Just beyond their casita is a gate opening up to a wonderful and expansive courtyard. You will quickly discover that Casa Agave is actually two buildings that wrap partially around the courtyard and pool areas in a modified colonial hacienda style. On your left you find the north wing/building with a full kitchen/dining room at the front on ground level, with sliders opening up to a covered terrace and the 'oh so inviting' pool. In the dining room facing the pool is a computer station with internet (bring your own laptop.)
Back inside, and still on the ground level, there is a small
bedroom at back facing the courtyard. The south wing/building of this beautiful Riviera Maya villa has on the ground level, an expansive living room complete with TV, DVD, stereo, Play Station 2 for the kids, and lots of area for the guests to lounge. Sliding glass windows on two sides make for a great view and easy access in and out. Outside and at the back on the ground level you will find a very large bedroom with King bed, courtyard and garden views. Upstairs above this room is another bedroom of equal size with King bed and similar views. The
gorgeous Master suite is located on this second level at the front. This suite has a
private sitting area with couch and TV. All the bedrooms in this wing/building have King beds, showers in the bathrooms and are accessed from the outside. (there is no internal hall between bedrooms, but a covered walkway. Parents with young children should consider this hacienda design and perhaps bring a baby monitor or two.) Although the interior spaces of
this Mexico vacation villa are well appointed and comfortable, this property begs for you to
spend your time out of doors. Everywhere you look there is an invitation
to sit or lay down and relax. Cute little benches here and there that offer you a
little privacy, hammocks hanging in the shade, a large palapa area with
wet bar and teak tables & chairs for outdoor dining, open areas
around the pool to lounge, covered terraces near the buildings, and a
bar-b-que area with charcoal grill of sufficient size to satisfy any
carnivore. This
fabulous vacation villa
underwent upgrades in
September - October 2005 with great care to the detail finishing. The owners have seen to
complete landscaping of all exterior areas and provided all the necessary
furnishings, linens, appliances and dishes. Everything is very tasteful and of a
good quality. The mix of Indo-Pacific furnishings with traditional Mexican
architecture and finishing, blend very well together in this tropical
setting. The result is charming and casual. Casa Agave has quickly become a villa with a long waiting list for reservations. |

AMENITIES: * A Cook is included Monday through Saturday morning to prepare up to 3 normal meals per day. There is NO dinner served on the day of your arrival. There will be an arrival snack available. The meals are at regular meal hours and limited to one entrée. The cook will not be in the kitchen all day. Rather, she will only be there to prepare the meals, serve the meals, and then clean up. The cook is not available to serve multiple sittings of breakfast, prepare snacks, serve drinks, or operate as a short order cook. The cook will present her menu and collect the money necessary to go off and shop for the groceries needed for the first few meals. There is some flexibility in the menu but please realize that the cook is not a chef, nor does she speak English, so it really works best when a group orders from the menu. Guests will pay for groceries and transportation for the cook to do the grocery shopping. The villa cannot be stocked with food and drinks before arrival. Guests should plan on purchasing their own drinks, snack items, and any groceries they want in addition to what is needed by the cook to prepare her meals. Guests have full access to the kitchen to prepare their own meals if desired.

A few COMMENTS from guests of Casa Agave: Hola Doug and Andra, We just returned from a wonderful week at Casa Agave. Silvia lived up to all of the rave reviews we read about on the internet. Her cooking was phenomenal! She and Roberto couldn't have made our stay more comfortable. The location and layout of the house were perfect for our group, and everyone liked the multiple common areas and privacy of the rooms. We were a group of 10, and no one felt crowded. The pressure is on to return again next year! Gail F, July 2010
"My family of 8 adults and 4 children stayed at Casa Agave in late
November, and it was a wonderful experience. The beach was beautiful,
and it was such a thrill to have both the pool and the beach right
there for us to enjoy any time; it makes a vacation with kids so much
more enjoyable. The walk to town is very easy on the beach or on the
road, but it was hard to pull ourselves away from that beautiful villa,
and there really wasn’t much reason to leave (although the town is
lovely and quaint). The bedrooms and living spaces were very nice and
comfortable. The best part of the vacation was the staff - Silvia,
Roberto, and Mary were wonderful, gracious, and accommodating. I cannot
say enough good things about Silvia's cooking - every meal was
delicious. I don’t recommend you buy very much food; Silvia will
get everything she needs for her recipes and believe me, you don’t
want to miss them. All of her ingredients are so fresh and her recipes
very authentic, including fresh squeezed juices every day. Roberto
worked very hard to keep the grounds, beach, and pool pristine, and
everything was spotless after Mary cleaned in the morning. I am so
hopeful that I will be able to go back and stay there again. I also
want to say that Katie was great to work with when organizing our trip,
and the property manager, Zenaida, was very nice and checked on us
frequently to see how we were doing and answer any questions we had.
Thank you to everyone who helped to make our family vacation so special!"
Tedra, Dec. 2009 We stayed at Casa Agave the week before Thanksgiving. We were a group of 12 ranging in age from 17 months to 93 years old. We all loved it! We went to the ruins at Coba, and had a family wedding in Playa del Carmen, but the rest of the time we were enjoying ourselves at the villa. It is lovely, and Sylvia is a fantastic cook! Sylvia and Roberto are delightful, very accommodating people. The casa and grounds are very well-maintained. Our section of the beach was groomed every day. We would go back in a heartbeat! Jim & Marna B, Dec. 2009 "My husband and I just returned from an amazing trip with 10 friends to Casa Agave. It was the most fun, relaxing vacation ever! The photos of Casa Agave do not do it justice - the house, the rooms, the pool, the outdoor area, the beach - everything was wonderful! The customer service given by Doug and Andra was outstanding and made the planning of the trip easy! We were well taken care of. Besides the beautiful weather and stunning home, the best part was Sylvia! we all wanted to take her home with us. she did an amazing job of cooking 3 meals a day for the 12 of us - we didn't want to eat anywhere else! We didn't venture far from the house or the beach but a few of us did swim with the dolphins and that was fantastic! The downtown area is just a short walk and has the marina, restaurants and small shops. I would highly recommend Casa Agave and Brisa Caribe to anyone who is looking for a wonderful vacation outside of the regular hotel stay. You will not be disappointed. I have told everyone that we found paradise! M. Wright Nov. 2009 "We where one of six couples who vacationed at Casa Agave and had a wonderful time. Very clean, well taken care of property. The beach was unbelievable and just steps from the courtyard...... Great location, minutes to downtown. Swimming with the dolphins was right around the corner, and it was an unforgettable experience. The ability to relax at the pool, walk right on the beach and have three message therapists come to us was heaven. I can not say enough about Silvia's cooking and Roberto's upkeep, what great people. We would go back anytime!!! Steve J. Nov. 2009
Our
family of 8 stayed at Casa Agave for a week in late July 2009 and we
had the best time! The house was nice and well maintained with an
amazing views. We were not sure how much we would use the cook but
as soon as we tasted Silvia's food we changed our minds! We ended up
eating almost all of our meals outside looking out at the beach.
There was so much to do - biking, kayaking, snorkelling, swimming
with the dolphins - but the house was so great we could have been
happy never leaving the property! Our whole family swam with the
dolphins and I would highly recommend that experience to anyone!
Overall it was a wonderful family vacation and we will definitely
come back! "Jessica W. July 2009
We came to Puerto Aventuras in January 2008 with a big group of family members and had a WONDERFUL time! Casa Agave was the perfect home for us. The home was clean and well maintained. Sylvia made the best meals and Roberto kept the property looking perfect. We loved the close proximity to town. It was so nice to be able to walk and not have to rent a car. Our favorite restaurant was Dos Chiles (great margaritas). My husband and our 4 year old swam with the dolphins (she still talks about it), we went out on a snorkelling trip and went to the ruins. There is so much to do but they days of doing nothing were great too! We had so much fun and were so happy there that we are going back in August 2009 with our friends! A Laing, May 09
This was one of our best vacations. We enjoyed the house, the
beach, the town, and especially Sylvia.
Hi, thanks for your email and just wanted to let you know I have received your refund check. We had a great time and the house worked out perfect. Most of all we want you to know that Sylvia was an absolute plus in so many ways. She was extremely friendly and a wonderful cook. We ate most of our meals at home because we found her cooking to be much better than the restaurants we ate at. Thank you for your help and we send our best wishes for the holidays. Kathy W, Dec. 10/08
Hello Doug, We enjoyed
our vacation very much indeed. I wanted to let you
know about the excellent service we received from
Zenaida trying to help us with the situation of the
electricity black out in Puerto Aventuras. We don't
have as much of a problem with electric company
here, but know exactly how it works when you need
them to solve a blackout on a weekend.
Thank you for
everything and also thank Andra who helped us with
transportation at the last minute. Hopefully
we will be able to go back some day.
Alicia T. August 2008
Dear Andra/Doug, I have every intention of a proper thank-you & wonderful review to submit--just been overwhelmed with our return. Our vacation was absolutely superb, and we all can't wait to return! thanks, Toni July 2008 p.s. PLEASE give our thank-you's (hopefully in Spanish) to Sylvia & Roberto for all they did!
The Brisa Caribe team have been very responsive and followed
through on everything we asked for. Thanks!!
Hi Doug, We have just returned from Casa Agave to the rain in Seattle. We has a fabulous time. Roberto and Silvia did an amazing job on making our stay very pleasant. The villa was the paradise that I have always longed for but didn't know existed. Our children loved everything about Puerto. We took advantage of swimming with the dolphins and went deep sea fishing and diving. No wonder you live there. We will check our calendars and hope to schedule a return visit through you. Best Regards, Jed and Nanci Powell May 2008 Hi Doug, We just got back last night from Casa Agave. Sorry we didn’t stop by to see you, but it’s amazing how busy you are when you don’t have anything to do. We enjoyed everything…we kayaked, swam in the pool and ocean, snorkeled (we found that small cove with the Mayan ruins…that was a highlight), laid and read books in the hammocks, in the chairs on the beach and the chairs by the pool. Had a massage. Enjoyed Silvia’s cooking and the total ambience of Casa Agave. We never left Puerto Aventuras. We enjoyed the restaurants there very much; and met Donna at Tiramisu as well as eating at Café Ole on Valentines Day. It was a true vacation for us. Best regards, Laura G. Feb. 2008
Hi Doug, Hi Doug, We had a GREAT time in Puerto Aventuras. We really didn't mind the rain. It seemed to rain mostly at night or late afternoon, so we were able to enjoy the morning sunshine, swimming, snorkeling and such and then in the afternoons we would visit, read and just relax. It was perfect. There was the one day that it rained all day, but we just did puzzles, games and crafts with the kids. We loved Casa Agave and the beach right in our backyard- our cook was wonderful, too. It was a slice of paradise and a vacation of a lifetime. We definitely hope to return!! Thanks again for all the advice and help you gave us. Angie Sommer, November 2007 Dear Doug -
Casa Agave was everything we expected and so much more. We had the time of
our lives. The pool was perfect for our little toddlers that didn't
swim well. The private beach just steps off the pool area was so awesome.
There was a hammock to laze away the days not only under some palm trees
on the beach but also there were 3 other ones dispersed through out for
our enjoyment. We had so much space. We never felt as if we were on
top of each other like you do with other villas. Sergio and Lucia
were absolutely adorable. He took my husband and his two brothers out to
go conch shell hunting. Then he cut it up and we ate delicious
ceviche that he made. The rooms were always very clean. Thanks Lucia for
doing such a great job. The Casa Agave was so BEAUTIFUL
! We were so surprised as the web site didn't do it justice.
We never wanted to leave. It worked out so perfectly for our group
of 10. Sergio and Lucia were great and made us the best
dinner. We can't say enough about Ali at Paradise Tours. He
was the best tour guide and became a friend. We are already trying
to figure out when we can return. Laura & Joe S. Portland
Ore. Jan. 18/03 What a nice week in
paradise! The villa with the beautiful decor - service when one
needed it - comfortable furnishings and plenty of equipment to accommodate
3 generations of family. What a setting to get to know each other
better. THANKS Helen W. Paris Ky. Jan. 2/03 |
