Puerto Aventuras: 
73 km. (45.6 miles) from Cancun Airport turnoff  

 Puerto Aventuras Mexico is located in the center of the Mayan Riviera.  It is home to villa Brisa Caribe and a few other wonderful Puerto Aventuras villas and condos.  This gorgeous, gated, residential/resort community is upscale, yet casual, and unique to the entire Riviera Maya.  Under a Master Plan, the development of Puerto Aventuras has been controlled, resulting in a look and feel that we locals simply call “Puerto.”  The helter-skelter growth that is so prominent up and down the Riviera Maya won’t be found here.  While the entire Mayan Riviera is very safe, the private security and entrance gate into Puerto Aventuras adds an extra level of comfort, ensuring you will not be bothered by vendors hounding you every time you are out in public. 

Right next to the entry gate into Puerto Aventuras you will find a PEMEX gas station, Executive car rental agency and soon to be famous 'Taco Paco.'  This unassuming little street cart serves up some of the freshest and best-tasting fish and shrimp tacos this side of Cabo.  Try one of each, you won't be disappointed. 

Within Puerto Aventuras, activities center around the picturesque commercial center surrounding the largest marina on the Mayan Riviera.   Activities and services include numerous boutiques including Art by Andrea, 12 restaurants (see our Restaurants page) 4 bars, a money exchange, 2 pharmacies, a post office, 3 internet cafes, 3 convenience stores, 2 bank machines, snorkel tours, 2 tour operators,  car rental agency, 3 dive shops, maritime museum,  gym, spa, fishing charters, catamaran day trips, parasailing and the Dolphin Discovery program where you can swim with dolphins. 

From this Puerto Aventuras central hub you can move out within walking distance to find 2 powdery white sand beaches with bountiful reefs just off shore, kayak & snorkel rentals, picturesque deepwater marina, challenging 9 hole golf course (a hidden gem), tennis courts, and an open air palapa roofed church.

    The gin clear, turquoise blue water in front of the Omni Hotel beach Puerto Aventuras is shallow and well protected by the outer reef.  It is a great place to swim, snorkel or build a sandcastle.  Public access to the beach is to the left of the hotel entrance through an alley way. 

The Omni Hotel lobby bar and XENOTE restaurant are open to the public.  Come enjoy a drink or delight in a delicious meal in Puerto Aventuras only oceanfront and air conditioned restaurant.

A day pass can be purchased for the Omni Hotel Beach Club where members can enjoy their facilities including the pool with swim up bar and a beach side palapa bar that is ready to serve up a cold refreshment or snack right to your lounge chair. 

The charming 30 room Omni Hotel complex includes a private gym surrounded by sand, water and sun that accepts walk in traffic for a day fee, plus the Dive Aventuras scuba shop.  

Puerto Aventuras deepwater marina has capacity for over 250 boats and attracts everything from small pleasure craft right through to 150 plus ft. luxury yachts.  While there are always fish to catch, mid March through mid May is the bill fish season.  It is during this time that you will find the Puerto Aventuras marina full of super sleek sport fishing boats from all over the Eastern seaboard.  If you want to try your hand at game fishing, there are numerous charter boats available.   Although they catch and release the bill fish, the Mahi Mahi (Dorada), Wahoo, Tuna, and other fine eating fish are kept.  If you aren’t lucky enough to land your own meal, head down to the docks around 1:00 or 5:30 PM when the boats are coming in and you can likely purchase some fabulous fish to take home for the bar-b-que at Brisa Caribe.  Wander along the marina walkways and feel free to check out the boats and chat with the crews as you explore this wonderful community.  Fishing boat crews can be real characters with many interesting stories to tell.

Puerto Aventuras 9 hole par 36 golf course is challenging, very pretty, and never busy.  Here you can wander up to the clubhouse around 7 AM and you will be sure to meet one of the residents who will likely invite you to join them in a casual round.  Or if you want a really entertaining round and a chance to mingle with the local Mayans, just ask one of the grounds keepers to join you.  Most of them finish work by 3 PM, love to golf, and have the strangest collection of clubs you could imagine.  Armado who maintains hole 5, is simply charming and will rarely turn down a game.  We like to do 9 holes in the morning and then return to do another 9 in the afternoon, saving the hottest part of the day for the beach.

   You can even find a very special church at Puerto.  The unique open aired “iglesia” is covered with a large palapa roof and has seen many happy couples perform their vows here.  Sunday services are open to the public.

All of the Riviera Maya vacation villas and condos that we represent in Puerto Aventuras are within a 5-15 minute leisurely stroll of these many services.  You need not worry about your security walking alone at night and you can relax knowing the kids are safe to do their own exploring on foot or with one of the bicycles provided at some of the villas.  We get many positive comments from guests about just how comforting it is that they can do such things as eating at a restaurant and then allowing the kids to wander off to do their thing, while the adults sit around awhile longer enjoying each others company.  Puerto Aventuras really is special.
