Villa Iguana is a 4000 sq. ft. wonderful Riviera Maya beachfront villa located just moments from Tulum on tranquil Solimon Bay right next door to Villa Yardena.  With the same spectacular aquamarine  blue Caribbean ocean at your door step and that same fabulous white sand beach stretching off into the distance in both directions, Casa Iguana is a great choice on its' own or rented together with Villa Yardena for those extra large groups. This is one of those Caribbean beach houses and locations that most people can only dream of ever being fortunate enough to experience.  You know the images.  Million dollar views from the bedrooms.  A powdery white sand beach that is so perfect you can only wonder where all the people are.  A protected bay teeming with fish & coral calling out for you to come in and play.  Gin clear water that never gets cold.  Shady coconut trees slowly dancing in the breeze.  A paradise you thought could no longer exist in this hectic crazy world, but does at Casa Iguana. Nothing happens quickly here except how fast you will start to unwind.  This is one of those places where you throw your shoes away within 10 minutes of your arrival.  A place where priorities are modified quicker than the ice melts in your margarita.  A place where manaña becomes your mantra.  On the trip down all you could think about was that big business deal you left one of your associates to take care of and how important it was to get on line with the villas computer once you arrived to check his work.  But... now that you are here and under the spell of Casa Iguana, you realize that it can wait until tomorrow.  For the moment it seems more important to build a sandcastle with the kids. You will take care of business in the morning sometime after you wander the shoreline hunting for treasure.   Eating all of your meals outdoors.  Lazy kayak tours of the bay.  Naps in a hammock.  Basking in the sun until you are a native bronze color.  Drifting off to sleep with the meditative lapping of the ocean on the shore.  Family, friends, food and drink.  These things all seem more important than work at the moment.  This is life at Casa Iguana.

As much as you will want to spend all of your time outdoors enjoying the beach, ocean, pool, and terraces, it certainly will not be uncomfortable to be indoors in this comfortably well equipped villa.  

On the ground floor you will find the the first of the 4 bedrooms.  It is air conditioned, has a King bed and is equipped with a Satellite TV, DVD player and security safe.  Like all of the bedrooms in the villa, it has a private terrace and ocean view.  This one is covered and steps right out to the pool and ocean just beyond.  Adjacent to the bedroom is a bathroom with shower.

A fully equipped kitchen with all of the extras except a dishwasher is ready for you to prepare anything from a snack to a full course meal.  Or if you want to do your cooking and dining outdoors, a charcoal grill is waiting next to the pool with table and chairs on a covered patio providing plenty of space for all to dine el fresco.

The indoor dining room is open to the kitchen and living rooms so that conversation and activities flow effortlessly.  Numerous windows, sliding glass doors and a vaulted ceiling with colorful dome, all add to the open airiness of the room.  Colorful fabrics, bamboo furnishings, tasteful accessories, polished native limestone flooring, and colorful Mexican tiles, all contribute to create a bright, tropical ambience.

On the second floor you will find a sitting area on the landing which has a futon cot that could sleep a couple of kids or an adult in a pinch.  Heading in either direction from this landing are two more bedrooms with great views of the ocean.  Both are equipped with King beds and have wonderful private terraces with lounge chairs.  These bedrooms have A/C, Satellite TV with DVD, and security safes.  One bedroom has en suite bathroom with shower.  The other bathroom/shower is adjacent to the bedroom and so is accessible to the sitting area.

Up to the rooftop terrace and you will find the very special 4th bedroom.  This cute bedroom with a Queen bed, million dollar view, thatched palapa roof, and en suite bathroom/shower is very private and very romantic.  There is A/C in this room but the height, all of the windows, fan and openness to the ocean, ensure that a cooling tropical breeze will keep you comfortable without needing to use it.  Also up on this level is a very private terrace with 2 lounge chairs for sunning, watching the sun rise/set or star gazing.  A very magical and inviting place.

A cozy self contained guest house located in the garden only steps away from the main house has King and Queen beds for those larger groups requiring the additional space or those wanting a little more privacy.  A TV with DVD, small kitchen, dining table and private ensuite bathroom make this a very comfortable space for Mom and Dad with child.

Solimon bay, where Casa Iguana is located, is a wonderfully private bay with only a few other vacation villas and bungalows. (see the Riviera Maya map and the Solimon Bay map)   There is no  commercial activity on the bay.  A car is recommended in case of a medical emergency and in order to access the nearby services and activities.  Solomon bay is between Tulum and Akumal, close to many interesting attractions such as the the natural water park at XelHa, dry caves at Aktun Chen, and the Mayan ruins of Tulum & Coba.  For more information on the many wonderful area attractions including restaurants and Mayan Ruins, please visit the 'Area Attractions South' section of our web site.
