The tasteful Villas del Mar II complex in Puerto Aventuras where La Joya Riviera Maya awaits you, was completed in March of 2006.  With only 3 buildings and a total of 32 units spread out in a horseshoe arrangement.  It is obvious that creating an intimate environment respectful of everyone's view, was what the architect had in mind.

A spacious swimming pool with plenty of poolside area for guests to lounge and a shallow area for kids to safely enjoy, fills the common space between the buildings.  Just beyond a white sand beach and gin clear waters beckon. 
 

One step inside La Joya Riviera Maya and you will be taken by the bright, airy environment.   A tasteful blend of natural colors, fabrics and textures in earth tones instils a peaceful environment. 

The living room is spacious and open with a large overstuffed sectional sofa and matching chaise lounge - perfect for sinking into and relaxing after a day of sun, sand and water.  There is cable television with English programming, plus a CD/DVD player.  Sliding glass doors lead from the living room to the terrace.  There you will find a soaking tub, cast aluminum patio set for dining al-fresco or enjoying that fabulous sunrise, a small gas bar-b-que, and that spectacular view, which you won't be able to tear yourself away from.

The dining room with seating for 6, is set off to the side of the living room.  It is furnished with a rich dark wood rectangular table and matching chairs.   The dining suite, handcrafted in Mexico, has lattice work on the table and chair backs that mimics the finishing in the rest of the condo. 

An open bar counter feeds through to the kitchen which is fully equipped with a dishwasher, cook top, convection oven, full size refrigerator and microwave.  You will also find a blender, juicer, toaster, coffee maker, dish & glass ware, serving dishes, cookware, cutlery & utensils.

A combination powder room/laundry room with stacking washer & dryer and bottled water dispenser are conveniently located off of the entry hall. 

The entire living space allows for effortless flow of traffic and conversation.

The large master bedroom has a vaulted ceiling with a king size pillow top bed and sliding glass doors leading to the terrace, giving a breath taking view of the pool, gardens and the sparkling turquoise waters of the Caribbean. There is a dressing area with a marble countertop and also a full marble en-suite bathroom complete with bathtub and shower.
 



 

The guest bedroom, also with a vaulted ceiling, is decorated with bright Mexican linens, has two queen size pillow top beds and a view of the private marina. It also has a full marble en-suite with a marble shower.

 

Condominium 'La Joya Riviera Maya' is located in the Villas del Mar II condo development on the sandy Omni beach in the resort-residential community of Puerto Aventuras.  It is a short stroll down the beach to the Omni hotel and the village center, making this a most desirable location.

Dear Doug, We had a truly wonderful stay and the property was immaculate. Our maid service was wonderful & the amenities were everything we expected and more.  We completed our dive certification on this trip and the scuba experience was certainly one to remember.  We especially enjoyed Café Ole Restaurant and getting to meet Gayle the owner.  I think we ate there almost every day, sometimes twice.  If we should decide to return to the area for another stay, you will be the first call that is made.  Thanks again for your help.  J. Hi Doug,  Thanks for your kind words and thanks for stopping by to check on Nick.  Although he was under the weather and had a headache the next few days, we did enjoy the rest of the stay.  We've been to our doctor here and will be running a few more tests to try to figure out why he had the TIA.  Although it was incredibly scary, I feel he got excellent care at both Hospiten Playa Carmen and then at Hospiten Cancun.  The condo is lovely and you can tell the owners that we thoroughly enjoyed it.  It was stocked with all the basic kitchen necessities which made preparing food effortless.  I did not realize that there was going to be maid service so when I returned on Wednesday afternoon, after having rushed out of there on Tuesday morning, it was a most pleasant surprise to have the place cleaned up.  Everyone was very nice, from the cleaning crew and water replacement young man to the staff at the Blue Caribbean....and you and your wife for stopping by.  I'm sorry we didn't get to meet you to thank you in person.  I will definitely pass on your name to friends who are considering vacationing down your way.  Hopefully, our family will have the pleasure of visiting Puerto Aventuras again in the future.  Pam W.  Jan. 1/09
