SERENA: on the lagoon. Located in the Serena Hotel & Spa it is a little out of the way, but worth the effort of finding it. A romantic open air palapa restaurant poolside offers full meals or light snacks. A large indoor room is available to host special events for larger groups.

RICHARD'S: on the marina. Whether you come for the food or to be entertained by Richard's stories and antics. You will enjoy yourself here. Excellent US Grade-A Steaks, Seafood and Pizza, plus a salad bar.

CAFE - CAFE: street side near Italian Bakery This bright deli-bakery with high speed internet service and the cheapest long distance telephone rates, is a very welcome addition to Puerto. Stop in to catch up on your emails, for a light breakfast, lunch or fabulously fresh desert with coffee and meet friendly owners Mimi from Denmark & Daniel from Mexico DF. Twyla says the vegetarian sandwich is to die for. I say that you MUST try Mimis' very special Almond Meringue Cake with yellow cream.

ITALIAN BAKERY: street side near Cafe-Cafe Internet. "Not just a bakery" A local favorite offering pizza and other good, reasonably priced, meals. Daily specials are often a great choice. A favorite for breakfast. They do take-away pizzas.

CAFÉ OLE: street side across from Omni Hotel. Wide variety of dishes from Mexican to American with seafood and daily specials too. New additions include Texas style bar-b-que and salad bar. Popular spot, good food and fabulous home made pies. Owner's Gary and Gail often have live music playing.

XENOTE: on the ocean in Omni hotel. Beautiful setting for quiet breakfast or romantic dinner. Dine in the comfort of Air Conditioning at Puerto's only indoor restaurant or outdoors on the patio enjoying the view. Serving Mayan, Yucatecan and International dishes. This is the nicest beach in Puerto and with a beach side bar serving snacks, you won't have to leave all day. Hotel bar has happy hour from 7-10 PM. The public is welcome to use beach and pool.

MEDITERRANEO: on the marina. Another Italian restaurant and one of our favorites. Tell them that you are staying at Brisa Caribe (or wish you were) and receive a discount. Make sure to say hello to friendly Italian owner Fabritzio.

TIRAMI SU: on the marina. Italian cuisine with an intimate atmosphere. Owners Donna and Memo are usually on hand to greet you and oversee your memorable evening. Donna's husband Memo is from Italy and heads up the kitchen.

ARIGATO: on the marina facing the dolphins. Japanese sushi bar and salads. Does the fish get any fresher than this with the boats docking not 200 yards away? Fish the way it is meant to be served.

DOS CHILES: on the marina. The only place in Puerto for Mexican cuisine. A good vantage point to have a drink or snack while you watch the dolphins perform.

CARIBANA: along the walkway behind Carribean.com internet. Only open for breakfast and lunch. Offering the "comida corriente" or plate of the day, this is where many of the locals get a quick, very reasonably priced meal. It is good, try it.

THE PUB: on the marina but a little set back and hidden. Owner Paul and Manager Cindy, offer a large selection of beers and very good pub fare. Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Good food, daily specials, and decent prices make this a local favorite and worth finding. The Thursday evening BBQ ribs special is particularly noteworthy.

GRINGO DAVE'S: on the far side of marina. Gringo Dave like many of the people running businesses in Puerto Aventuras, is a bit of a character and always has a story to tell. This Tex-Mex grill and cantina is his second location on the coast. The original Gringo Dave's is on a gorgeous beach on the back road to the Tulum ruins

JONES SPORT BAR: on the marina. Bill has American TV programming and all of the sports games on. Besides a cold drink you can get a hamburger, chicken wings, or other snacks. You never know what is going to happen at this place. Stop by and sign one of the walls.

PACO'S TACOS: in the PEMEX gas station parking lot at front gate. This little, unassuming street cart serves up some of the best and freshest fish and shrimp tacos this side of Cabo, all made to order right in front of you by Paco himself.

PALAPA MANATI: along the marina near the small fishing boats: Climb into a swing at the bar or pick a table in the sand under the shade of a palapa. This bar & restaurant serves cold drinks and light snacks. A good stop for lunch. Don't miss the manatees and stingrays swimming in the grotto behind this very casual restaurant/bar.
