Zen del Mar, a stunning masterpiece of a luxury villa, is situated on a gorgeous private beach in Jade Bay. This amazing villa offers every luxury one could ever wish for a special vacation on the Mexican Caribbean. The owners of Zen del Mar have designed this Villa after years of providing luxury rentals at their adjacent villa – Casa del Sol Naciente 'House of the Rising Sun'.   They have thought of every detail in creating an amazing, well thought out, custom built luxury vacation home!

Villa Zen del Mar – “Calm from the Sea” – is a spacious five-bedroom, five and ½ bathroom, beach-front vacation home that sleeps 10 to 14 people.   Zen del Mar is designed to give breathtaking views of the Sea from all rooms and yet maintain an air of privacy and soulful spaces when comfortably accommodating its guests.  The Villa has five King sized bed suites and six and one half bathrooms.  The Villa was designed by its owners in the spirit of “Homes of the Yucatan” with a strong influence of the famed Mexican Architect Ricardo Legorreta.  Zen del Mar was built by a local team of Mayan artisan builders.  The design marries the strong elements of modern Mexican architecture with local Mayan craftsmanship and indigenous Yucatan materials. 

General Layout: The Palapa-roofed entranceway soars 25 feet high to reveal the natural stone Mayan archway inviting you into the Villa.  There is a synergy of indoor/outdoor Living and Dining rooms.   Your walk slows as you enter Villa Zen del Mar on the hand-made Mayan terra-cotta tile floors and your eyes fixate on the soaring 25 foot high glass window revealing the Caribbean Sea at the garden’s edge.  The large indoor Dining room doors open to the adjacent exterior Dining Room and grill area. The spacious kitchen consists of a serving area with a cocktail bar / breakfast bar with stunning views of the sea, two sinks and a dishwasher, a large cooking area with state-of-the-art restaurant-style amenities.  There is a covered outdoor kitchen with Grill, bar and service area next to the kitchen and the outdoor dining area.

The first floor has an open-floor design and includes:

·      2 ½ - story Entrance Foyer overlooking the Caribbean Sea and the sunken Living Room

·      Marble bar area to serve drinks and Hors D’oeuvres

·      Large kitchen area with a pantry,  two sinks and a dishwasher

·      Breakfast counter and bar that can accommodate 8 people

·      320 sq. ft. dining room with a custom-made hardwood tree-trunk dining table serving 14

·      400 sq. ft. sunken living room with built in seating, Satellite TV DVD/VCR and music system

·      340 sq. ft. Master Bedroom suite with a king bed, a seating area and a private bathroom with hand-made marble bathtub and a personal entrance to the pool and patio area

·      Separate artisan hand-made Bathroom

·      A full outdoor kitchen with a 4’ wide charcoal grill, cooking area and a service bar

·      Outdoor dining area under a roof graced with hardwood beams, with a table for 14

·      Outdoor observation / seating area overlooking the Caribbean Sea.

 
   The Kitchen is equipped with two sinks and appliances that include a dishwasher, an oven, a toaster oven, a microwave and a blender. Upon arrival, refrigerator is stocked with Soft Drinks and Cold Beer.  Condiments and cooking staples such as sugar, salt, spices, sauces etc. are replenished by the staff.   Restaurant quality dishes and utensils are provided.  Bottled drinking water is provided and refreshed daily by the staff.  Chef Service is available upon request – to be coordinated with the Hospitality Manager.

 The Sunken Living Room has a seating and entertainment area. The living room has TV with satellite service that includes American News channels as well as several movie channels.  The entertainment center also allows viewing the library of 30 DVDs and VCR videos.  Music CD’s are played on a 5-Disc changer with four sets of inside and outside speakers.

 Outdoor Barbecue Kitchen: Zen del Mar has a full outdoor kitchen / grill area located right outside the main kitchen food preparation area, where you can prepare full meals grilled.  Grill Fresh Fish or a meat of your choice on the 4 foot built-in charcoal barbecue and serve the meal on the built-in bar next to the grill – directly overlooking the outdoors dining room. 

 The 60 foot Pool: The pool is a swimmer’s delight at 60 feet in length with an infinity edge, a waterfall cascading onto a bench at the infinity edge and two lounge chairs built in to the pool.  The pool is perfect for family play, lounging in the water and…. for Swimming laps.  Custom-built Hardwood lounge chairs grace the pool edge and the separate Sand lounging area. 

 Spa services have a home in the Zen Spa-Palapa.  The secluded elevated 300 square foot palapa is home for Spa privacy overlooking the pool and the sea.  The Spa Palapa has a shower and bathroom.  This can be a perfect hideaway to read a book or nap for non-Sun lovers.

 Ocean Kayaking:  On calm days you may take out the two 2-person ocean kayaks….. the water is  transparent you can just see the fish and the coral reef from the surface…  You can go out there and catch a wave passing the Riviera Maya reef as it reaches for the beach.  For snorkeling – Jade Beach is a “fish hotel” – please be respectful in the water as it is a living reef.

Bedroom Suites and Balconies
The second floor has a foyer with seating for two overlooking the ocean through the 25 foot wall of glass.  All bedroom suites are graced with hand made hardwood double-doors. Each room has a mini-refrigerator, a safe and a satellite TV.  The large bedroom suites range from 320 to 420 square foot in size.  All five bedrooms have fine Bed linens from Europe at 400 plus thread count sheets.  Two of the six bathrooms have Mayan Stone bathtubs with glass block walls providing both light and privacy.  Showers in the other bathrooms have a view of the sea.  Covered balcony spaces were designed from the bedrooms for breathtaking views and privacy.  Shown here is a sunrise view from the Master Bedroom suite.

 The Tranquility Suite is on the ground floor and has a King sized four-poster bed made from local Tree trunks. This suite has its own entrance directly into the swimming pool area with a direct view of the Caribbean Sea.  This suite has a private bathroom with two sinks, a shower and a hand-made marble bathtub.  The bathroom’s exterior walls are made of glass blocks, providing an outdoors feeling with luxurious privacy. 

 The Dream Suite has a King size Bed set into a niche with two private windows for perfect view of the Caribbean from your bed.  The closet has mirrored doors to reflect the ocean view from your bed. The sliding glass doors open to the exterior covered balcony for a place to sit and read. There is a double bed lounging area in the suite, which can be used for additional sleeping.  This suite has a private bathroom with two sinks, and a large shower which has a direct view of the Caribbean Sea. 

 The Gratitude Suite has a King size Bed set into a niche directly facing the Caribbean Sea through two large sliding glass doors.   The sliding glass doors open to the exterior covered balcony for a place to sit and read.  There is a single bed lounging area in the suite, which can be used for additional sleeping.  This suite has a private bathroom with a sink, and a large shower which has a window overlooking the Caribbean Sea. 

 The Joy Suite has a King size Bed directly facing the Caribbean Sea through two large sliding glass doors and two large windows.   The sliding glass doors open to the exterior covered balcony for a place to sit and read.  There is a single bed lounging area in the suite, which can be used for additional sleeping.  This suite has a private bathroom with a sink, and a large shower which has a window overlooking the Caribbean Sea. 

 The Serenity Suite has a King size Bed set into a niche directly facing the Caribbean Sea through two large sliding glass doors.   The sliding glass doors open to the exterior covered balcony for a place to sit and read.  This suite has a private bathroom with two sinks, a shower and a hand-made marble bathtub.  The bathroom’s exterior walls are made of glass blocks, providing an outdoors feeling with luxurious privacy. 

 Roof top Bed:  The rooftop bed takes a Double Bed sized air mattress and can be made up with sheets to sleep under the stars and the moon, if you desire.

As one of the newly developing beaches along this gorgeous Riviera Maya coast, Jade Bay is still a relatively well kept secret.  Those who have found it and planted some roots, have done so with a thoughtfulness for the environment that is to be appreciated.  This beautiful bay still has gin clear waters, incredible corals and colorful tropical fish life just waiting to be snorkeled among.  During the summer months, endangered sea turtles still return after countless years of tradition, to lay their eggs on the beaches of Jade Bay. If you are lucky, you will be blessed in witnessing the exquisite natural wonder of droves of baby turtles erupting from their nest in the sand and making their way back to the ocean where they came. It truly an experience of a lifetime that will leave a lasting memory with you.
