The beachfront condo complex Xaman-Ha  (pronounced shaw-man-ha and meaning 'waters of the north' in the Mayan language) located in the Playa del Carmen community of PlayaCar Phase 1, could not be in a more convenient location.  A great beach that does not see too much traffic and a very short stroll to Playa del Carmens famous 5th Avenue walking street is why this older yet well maintained complex has remained a popular destination.

Add to the fabulous location, lush sculptured grounds that include a palapa massage room......

...... an inviting large beachfront pool that even boasts a swim up bar.......

.... and not to forget a spectacular white sand beach that doesn't often get busy and you begin to understand why guests come back year after year.

Xaman-Ha unit #7017 is a 3 bedroom unit on the ground floor in the center of the 'C' building.  The unit has a covered terrace which is quite private and affords a nice view of the lush gardens, pool and ocean just beyond.  A mixture of wicker, rattan, hardwoods and Asian artwork, give the condo a very tranquil feel which is right at home in this tropical setting.

On the ocean side of this lovely Xaman-Ha condo is a living room which opens up to the terrace.  This terrace extends down to the Master bedroom.  In the living room is a couch, 2 chairs, TV, DVD, VHS, CD player and iPod docking station.

A dining room table with seating for 6 is open to the living room.  Just beyond this is a kitchen with full size refrigerator, 4 burner stove stop, small toaster oven and microwave.

The master bedroom has a King size canopy bed from which you can enjoy the view of the gardens, pool and ocean.  A attached en-suite bathroom has double sinks and shower.

From the central hallway a guest bathroom can be reached.  This bathroom has double sinks and a shower.  From the bathroom a second door connects to the first guest bedroom making this an en-suite.  This bedroom has 2 double beds.  A third guest bedroom is across the hall.  It is a little smaller and fitted with twin beds.

A very interesting aspect of the Xaman-Ha condos are their location directly adjacent to the Xaman-Ha ancient Mayan ruins.  These ruins date back to 300 - 600 AD when this was a resting point for Mayans travelling back and forth from the island of Cozumel where it was believed the Mayan God of fertility resided.  Young women would visit the island to pray for fertility and a healthy child birth.  Today Xaman-Ha is s resting point for vacationers looking to worship the sun, sand and sea.

COMMENTS:
"We were pleased with the condo that we rented, it met our needs nicely. It is close enough to the village that we could easily walk to get food and find entertainment, but far enough away that we had quiet time on the beach. The staff was very helpful and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The only down side is the mattresses were not the most comfortable (I can sleep anywhere, but one of our travel companions had trouble sleeping due to the firmness of the mattress.) We met other guests that were fun to interact with and we felt safe while we were there.  i would recommend this complex to friends."  Brent R. July 2010.
